source for finding the GTS id ?

I'm using it in a simple app https://gtsport-stats.netlify.app/

Has someone maybe figured out where to get the GTS id by providing the PSN profile name?
There must be a api somewhere where for example kp gets it from?

As mentioned in Endpoints/profile.md it's not possible to do the lookup using PSN from what this API provides. KudosPrime has a custom built solution to do that lookup which they do not share.

I knew from this documentation the gt sport isn’t providing it but hoped that by now someone would have figured out how kudosprime does it.
A good challenge to figure it out though!

I cant say for sure how KP does their lookups now, but in the past they simply made their own lookup tables by polling through user ID numbers and recording the returned usernames for indexing with the ID.

In theory its not a difficult task, but its a massive amount of data - millions of records - and you have to continually recheck the id's for username changes. (PSN username changes were not available when they first started doing their DB, but thats got to be a consideration now). Also, depending on how you go about it, Polyphony could easily block your IP or throttle your requests if you attempt to send too many queries.

In my experience, the best thing to do for building GT community related software is to have each member enter their ID into their profile data and then run api stats checks for all your members via a scheduled job.

wow didn't expect that. But makes sense if there is no other option. Will just use the kudosprime endpoint then :)
