Preservation of user-provided catalog metadata across refreshes

I have a question about how Amundsen works.
How is data preserved for user-provided metadata in the event of metadata refreshes or updates.
Consider a Databricks table T with metadata imported from the hive metastore.
The owners of the table T decide to add a table description, tag as well as column descriptions.
The metadata from Databricks gets refreshed daily by an Airflow job. Will the user-provided catalog metadata be preserved across these daily refreshes ?
