SUMMARY
Currently
update_factwill report error if the var or subfield doesn't exist. It would be really nice if the missing var or subfield can be created automatically. To avoid breaking existing patterns, an additional argument could be added to update_fact such that by default it is still the old behavior.ISSUE TYPE
