No "ansible_collections" parent directory was found

I'm running on macOS and run this command:

	$(VENV_BIN_DIR)/ansible-test sanity  -v $(ADDITIONAL_ARGS) \
		--exclude docs/ \
		--color \
		--python `$(VENV_BIN_DIR)/python -c 'import platform; print("{0}.{1}".format(platform.python_version_tuple()[0], platform.python_version_tuple()[1]))'`

My current directory is /Users/dvernier/.ansible/collections/ansible_collections/redhat/onclouds which is an symbolic link to my ansible collection project.

and I get this error:

 make test-sanity-docker
make test-sanity ADDITIONAL_ARGS="--docker"

Testing an Ansible collection: {...}/ansible_collections/{namespace}/{collection}/
Example #1: community.general -> ~/code/ansible_collections/community/general/
Example #2: ansible.util -> ~/.ansible/collections/ansible_collections/ansible/util/

Current working directory: /Users/dvernier/ansible/aap-aoc-collections/
No "ansible_collections" parent directory was found.

any idea?
Should we avoid symbolic link?
