SUMMARY

This is an attempt to bump libssh version to 0.11.0, which is a prerequisite to improve the SFTP throughput.

ISSUE TYPE
  • Feature Pull Request
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I am not sure if it would make sense to run the test matrix on some older libssh versions too (as libssh will not get updated in el9 for example) so keeping as a draft for now to address remaining questions before merging.

The version 0.11.1 was just released, which should be already quite stable for general use:

Congratulations! One of the builds has completed. 🍾

You can install the built RPMs by following these steps:

  • sudo yum install -y dnf-plugins-core on RHEL 8
  • sudo dnf install -y dnf-plugins-core on Fedora
  • dnf copr enable packit/ansible-pylibssh-636
  • And now you can install the packages.

Please note that the RPMs should be used only in a testing environment.

Seeing that manylinux1 cannot build this new version of libssh, it would make sense to deal with #324 first.
