2022-12-20 OpenShift 4.11 and User Workload Monitoring

We're pleased to announce that both APPUiO Cloud zones (cloudscale.ch LPG 2 and Exoscale CH-GVA-2 0) are now upgraded to OpenShift 4.11.

Kubernetes is currently changing the way pod security works. As a side effect, you will probably experience warnings when applying resources. Please have a look at our Pod Security Admissions documentation. It is important to address these warnings sooner rather than later. We expect that those warnings will become errors in future versions of OpenShift.

…and now that the administrative stuff has been taken care of, we come to the good parts. Thanks to functionality introduced in OpenShift 4.11, it is our pleasure to announce that User Workload Monitoring is now available on APPUiO Cloud. This is a major and long awaited feature and allows you to:

• get access to system metrics related to your applications like memory, CPU, or volume usage;
• collect your own metrics directly from your applications;
• configure alerts based on those metrics;
• send alerts, so you get notified when something needs your attention;
• view those metrics on a Grafana dashboard.
