Description

The title says it all, really - see the snippet and screenshot below for an example of what I mean.

To Reproduce

Paste the following and place the cursor in the middle:

> $$
> 42
> $$

Expected Behavior

The pop-up preview should contain the number 42, with no angle brackets.
