How soon will .NET 8 be supported?

So, I have a couple of questions/requests regarding .NET 8.

• .NET 8 should be released on November 14th. Should we expect Lambda to support it on the same day?
• Could you please take an action item to update https://docs.aws.amazon.com/lambda/latest/dg/lambda-csharp.html?
• A while ago, I opened this ticket and it sounded like the CDK team is waiting for Lambda support first. Could you please coordinate with them to update the Runtime class? (Note that I no longer care about .NET 7 since 8 should have LTS)

@petro2050 Good morning. While .NET SDK team would work on updated the images, pushing the images to Lambda follows a release process and takes some time. For CDK support, once the Lambda .NET 8 support is available, you might need to follow up with CDK team.

I created a pinned GitHub issue here for tracking progress with our .NET 8 support. #1611

For your question about CDK yes it will be updated to have .NET 8 in the runtime class. .NET 7 was special thing since there wasn't an actual managed runtime for it. But since .NET 8 will have a managed runtime CDK will for sure have it when everything is done with the release of the managed runtime.
