This directory is no longer necessary after a genome installation is finished and it can occupy tens of GBs.
For example, after running bcbio_vm.py --datadir=~/bcbio-vm/data install --data --tools --genomes hg38 --aligners bwa the size of ~/bcbio-vm/data/genomes/Hsapiens/hg38/txtmp/ is 34GB.
