Decentralized Object Storage Manager For The Bench Network.
Aero is currently under development in the development branch.
Aero manages all "Objects" across the Bench Network. Aero is a decentralized object storage network, that utilizes computers powered by benOS and the disks within those computers as object storage nodes. Aero was designed to work alongside benFS-based filesystems. benFS is the native filesystem built into benOS. Aero also works alongside Kepler by giving each object under its management, a unique identifer on the Bench Network, so that it can be retreived by any application or utility within benOS or if BenchX computer users want to retreive, use a file, this UID is used in that scenario.
Aero is a very important part of how benOS works and how benOS users are able to upload files and store them across the Bench Network. Thanks to Nova and how it views benOS powered computers as virtual machines under its control, Aero is able to distribute files through it's integration with Nova and those files are stored on the computers that are registered as Compute Nodes within Nova's global hypervisor.
benOS is a decentralized operating system, originally based on Linux, uses some design strategies from RedoxOS and even some design concepts from OpenStack, Ethereum and EOS. Although we utilize some of their design strategies, benOS is completely custom from a codebase perspective.
