Member Import Issues

I imported a single record from a csv as a test. All fields were successfully imported, but the import dialogue (see attached) did not go away. Subsequent attempts at import did not work.

I uninstalled the plugin, deleted the folder, re uploaded and reinstalled, but the import dialogue is still showing and I am not able to import anything new.

At this point I would be happy to get the import dialogue removed.
Using Craft 2.6.2788 and the most current version of Import

The task seems to be hanging. Please look in the logs for errors first.

We're experiencing this same problem, and to get it to stop I have to access the table "craft_tasks" and change its status from "pending" to "error" so it stops. Either way, I've tried to do everything but I'm not able to import users to CraftCMS.
Each user will have different groups that he/she's associated with... Could this possibly be what is causing the error.
Do you know anything to work around this?
Any help would be great.

Can you look into the logs to see what's going on?
