An accessible environment is a shared responsibility. When violations are encountered they can easily be reported if there were an easy application.
The main purpose of our project is to create this application! We create a social awareness and networking environment that provides people reporting when violations are encountered and search, rate and comment on these violations.
This application basically allows individuals to know what is going on about the violations that people encounter. Also our application is taking into consideration that not all the violations impact all disable people. Some violations affect those who can't walk, some affect those who can't see, or hear etc.
All in all, an accessible environment is a shared responsibility, and this application is trying to help people about that. Here, you can do all these stuff with our project:
- Reporting a violation (based on type, location, description, media)
- Report on disabled friendly locations
- Update status of a violation (fixed, in progress, still same)
- Search for a particular violation or type of violations
- Summary Reports on violations. (In case, someone from the municipality could be interested in seeing the big picture of violations.)
- Assist disabled with useful information so they can avoid troubled areas
- Allow volunteers to vocalize reports (for the blind) so the reports can be more accessive.
Our application also supports Android based mobile clients and our initial prototype is done for Rumeli Hisarustu and Bogazici University.
