감수자분들이 제가 영문 freeCodeCamp 기사와 튜토리얼을 한국어 번역 작업을 한 문서들을 읽으실 수 있도록 만든 레포입니다.
As I've now transitioned into software engineering, I have always wante dto contribute to the Open Source field. However, open source projects seemed overwhelming for someone like me, who was still learning to master software development. However, because I had experience in translation work, I knew that I could contribute to projects in that way. Serenpitiously, I heard news that freeCodeCamp was starting their Korean translation and was able to join the team!
개발자로 직군 전환하면서 오픈소스 프로젝트에 기여하고 싶었지만, 아직 개발 공부를 하는 사람으로서 선뜻 도전하는 게 막막했습니다. 하지만 번역 작업을 한 경력이 있어, 번역 오픈소스 프로젝트에는 기여할 수 있을 거라는 생각이 들었습니다. 마침, freeCodeCamp가 한국어 번역을 시작했다는 소식을 듣고 번역 오픈 소스 프로젝트에 합류하게 되었습니다.
Given that my educational background as well as my software engineering knowledge was extensively in English, the translation process took a lot longer than what I was used to. To solve this problem, I actively searched and read various websites and resources such as MDN, Modern JavaScript Tutorial, as well as blog posts of Korean software engineers.
어렸을 때부터 정규 교육과정을 영어로 밟았고 개발 공부 또한 영어로 진행해왔기 때문에 영-한 번역 작업을 시작했을 때 한글 프로그래밍 용어가 익숙하지 않아 작업 속도가 빠르지 못했습니다. 매끄럽고 자연스러운 번역을 위해 MDN, 모던 JavaScript 튜토리얼과 여러 현직 한국인 개발자들의 블로그와 기사를 읽는 게 번역과 제 개인 개발 학습에 도움이 많이 되었습니다.
