Developer meeting summary 20/07/2023

Current key priorities are on track to be finished in the next few months

• benchmarking: currently open PR to be merged this (or next) week, then intense work on this planned for mid-Sep to mid-Oct. We may take inspiration from this blog about benchmarking on GH actions runners and are planning to contribute an improvement to the asv docs.
• (meta)packaging: various issues and minor bugs fixed or close to being fixed. Documentation of release process and interdependencies between BG packages in a single place in progress. Need to think about a good way to (at least mostly) automatically to bump versions. Intense development phase planned on this over the next 5 weeks (especially from in two weeks)
• brainrender-napari: improvements to UX progressing fast. There is hope that most thinking has been done now, it's a matter of turning thoughts into code now.
• work on "user story" workflows and/or Layer Group PR next.
• napari hackday coming up (UCL internal)
