Upgrading from 1.x to 2.x

What will the upgrade process look like when upgrading from version 1.x to 2.x?
Will it be similar to a minor updates or will there be manual steps to be taken?

We want to start using cal.com, but it's unclear if we should start with version 1 or wait until version 2 is released.

@PeerRich: dont get me wrong, but are you writing such a guide like the install guide, because that is not so "good".
