Accessbot Configuration |
You can use the access to resource-name
command for obtaining 1 hour access to a specific resource.
The default configuration relies on a “manual approval” workflow, which delegates access request approvals to the bot admins (SDM_ADMINS
).
When an access request is registered, the bot assigns an access_request_id
and notifies all the admins. In order to approve or deny a request, an admin needs to send one of the following messages in a DM or the configured admin channel (SDM_ADMINS_CHANNEL
), before the request times out (SDM_ADMIN_TIMEOUT
):
- For approve: yes
access_request_id
- For deny: no
access_request_id
[optional-reason]
If an access request times out without approval, it's automatically rejected and deleted.
Besides the “manual approval” workflow, you can configure:
- Automatic approval for all resources (
SDM_AUTO_APPROVE_ALL
). Automatically grant access to all available resources - no need for admin approval. - Automatic approval by tag for resources (
SDM_AUTO_APPROVE_TAG
). Automatically grant access to all tagged available resources. Delete the tag or set it false to disable. Auto-approve resources will be highlighted when executing: show available resources - Show tagged resources (
SDM_ALLOW_RESOURCE_TAG
). Show tagged resources in the list of available resources. The tag value must be true to be enabled, set value to false or delete the tag to hide the resource. Only allowed resources will be shown when executing: show available resources - Hide tagged resources (
SDM_HIDE_RESOURCE_TAG
). Remove tagged resources from the list of available resources. The tag value must be true to be enabled, set value to false or delete the tag to show the resource. Hidden resources will not be shown when executing: show available resources - Automatic approval for all roles (
SDM_AUTO_APPROVE_ROLE_ALL
). Automatically grant access to all available roles - no need for admin approval. - Automatic approval by tag for roles (
SDM_AUTO_APPROVE_ROLE_TAG
). Automatically grant access to all tagged available roles. Delete the tag or set it false to disable. Auto-approve roles will be highlighted when executing: show available roles - Show tagged roles (
SDM_ALLOW_ROLE_TAG
). Show tagged roles in the list of available roles. The tag value must be true to be enabled, set value to false or delete the tag to hide the role. Only allowed roles will be shown when executing: show available roles - Hide tagged roles (
SDM_HIDE_ROLE_TAG
). Remove tagged roles from the list of available roles. The tag value must be true to be enabled, set value to false or delete the tag to show the role. Hidden roles will not be shown when executing: show available roles - Specific approvers for specific resources or accounts (
SDM_APPROVERS_CHANNEL_TAG
). Tagged resources/accounts will send access requests to their responsible approvers. The tag value should be the name of the approvers channel for that resource/account.
Different workflows (permutations) can be configured using the flags mentioned above - adjustable at runtime via plugin config.

Following some sample commands you can use for configuring tags (e.g. SDM_AUTO_APPROVE_TAG=auto-approve
):
