<h1>Sound Board Settings</h1>
<h2 class='header' id="powerUp"">Power Up</h2>

<p>
When you are preparing for a service, use these steps to assure all devices you will need
have power.
<ul>
<li>Power on the surge protector on the floor under the board.<br>This powers the
sound board, wireless receivers, USB recorder, CD and tape player.</li>
<li>Check for lights on
<ul>
<li>the surge protector</li>
<li>the both amplifiers to the right of the surge protector</li>
<li>the CD player</li>
<li>the USB recorder</li>
<li>the all wireless receivers on the wire rack above the amplifiers</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Make sure all channels are muted</li>
<li><em>Master L</em> is at level 0</li>
<li><em>Master R</em> is at level -30</li>
<li><em>Mon 1</em> is at level 0</li>
<li><em>Mon2</em> is at level 0</li>
<li><em>Ceiling Left</em> (used for recording only) <em>should be muted except for congregational singing - slider all the way down</em></li>
<li>Put the USB drive in the USB recorder
<ul>
<li>Press the record button to prepare recording </li>
<li>The display should change to "Preparing"</li>
<li>After preparing the record light should start blinking<br>
This means the recorder will begin recording when the "record" button is
pressed</li>
<li>When the record button is pressed the display light should be on solid
and the display counter should increment each second to show it is
recording
</li>
<li>To stop the recording
<ul>
<li>Press the stop button on the recorder</li>
<li><span style="color: red;">Wait</span> for "Finalizing" to disappear from the display</li>
<li>Remove the USB drive</li>
<li>Place the USB drive in the PC for processing</li>
</ul>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>

<h2 class='header' id="powerDown"">Power Down</h2>

<p>
When the service ends, follow these steps to properly power down the sound equipment
<ul>
<li>Make sure the USB recording has ended
<ul>
<li>The record light should be off - press the stop button if it is still
recording</li>
<li>Make sure the display does not show "Finalizing" - if so, wait until
"Finalizing" disappears from the display</li>
<li>Remove the USB drive from the recorder</li>
<li>Place the USB drive in the PC for processing</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li><em>Make sure all channels are muted</em></li>
<li><em>Master L</em> is at level 0</li>
<li><em>Master R</em> is at level -30</li>
<li><em>Mon 1</em> is at level 0</li>
<li><em>Mon2</em> is at level 0</li>
<li>Power off the surge protector on the floor under the board</li>
</ul>

<h2 class='header' id="playCD"">Playing a CD</h2>

<p>
CDs are played in the Denon device on your right. Insert the disc. If it starts playing,
press the pause button.
<ul>
<li>Make sure the A/B switch between the PC and sound board is in the "B" position</li>
<li>Select the track you want to play using the track forward/backward buttons (you
can use the remote or the front panel)</li>
<li><em>Channel 8?</em> unmuted - use slider to adjust volume (this is the music
side of a split-track CD)</li>
<li>If the CD is split-track, leave track 7? muted.</li>
<li>Unmute the channels for each microphone that will be used</li>
<li>Mute all other channels</li>
<li><em>Master L</em> is at level 0</em></li>
<li><em>Master R</em> is at level 0</em></li>
<li><em>Mon 1</em> is at level 0</em></li>
<li><em>Mon2</em> is at level 0</em></li>
<li>After playing the song(s) move <em>Mon2</em> back to level -30</li>
<li>After playing the song(s) move <em>Master R</em> back to level -20</li>
</ul>

<h2 class='header' id="preach"">Pastor is preaching</h2>

When the pastor is preaching here are the sound board settings.
<ul>
<li><em>Channel 2</em> unmuted - use slider to adjust volume</li>
<li>All other channels muted</li>
<li><em>Master L</em> is at level 0</li>
<li><em>Master R</em> is at level -30</li>
<li><em>Mon 1</em> is at level 0</li>
<li><em>Mon2</em> is at level 0</li>
</ul>
</p>

<h2 class='header' id="ppt"">Powerpoint Operation</h2>

<p>
To play the powerpoint for the service
<ul>
<li><em>Power to the PC is on the left side near the top - it should always be on</em></li>
<li>The Powerpoint file should be at the center of the desktop - named with date and am/pm service</li>
<li>Double click the icon on the desktop to start Powerpoint and open the file</li>
<li>Press the F5 button to start the Powerpoint at the beginning (Shift-F5 to start with a different slide</li>
<li>The down arrow or right arrow will move to the next slide (and advance the points on the paster's slide</li>
<li>The left arrow or up arrow buttons will move to the previous slide</li>
<li>When the presentation is complete, press the "Esc" key to exit Powerpoint</li>
<li>Click the red box in the upper left corner to exit Powerpoint</li>
<li>If the service is recorded, stop the recording, remove the thumb drive from the recorder and insert it into a
USB port on the PC (see the "Power Down" section for more detail)</li>
</ul>
</p>
</div>
<h2 class='header' id="noSound"">No sound</h2>
<div class='info' id="noSound"">
<p>
When you unmute a channel and there is on sound in the sanctuary
<ul>
<li>Make sure the mute light is off for that channel</li>
<li>If it's a wireless mic - make sure the power is on (check the wireless receiver
on the wire rack to the right of the window; each channel there is color coded
and the green light to the left of the channel number should be lit
</li>
<li>The slider should be between -12 & +6 - slide it to -12, then slowly increase
until you reach +6; If there is still no sound, bring it back down to -6</li>
<li>Check for sound board lights when channel has some input (someeone talking into
a mic, CD player is playing, etc.) - if not sound is not getting to the board;
check both ends of the line input connected to that channel</li>
<li><em>Make sure Master L</em> is at level 0</li>
<li><em>Make sure Master R</em> is at level -30</li>
<li><em>Mon 1</em> is at level 0</li>
<li><em>Mon2</em> is at level 0</li>
<li>Slowly bring up Master R to level 0 while testing; reset to -30 when complete</li>
<li>Make sure both amplifiers are powered on (on floor to right of main surge
protector)</li>
</ul>
</p>
