1) The emulator executable image:

    1a) To build the executable from source:

       Download the alpha 1.0 release from sourceforge.
       cd dps8m-code/src/dps8/
       make

    1b) From the prebuilt tarball:
    
       Download and unpack the alpha 1.0 release tarball from sourceforge.
       cd src/dps8

2) The Multics disk

    2a) Use a preloaded image:

        Get the image from Google drive:

            https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxMJyk--V8yWYXotaGFSSUpmc3M/view?usp=sharing

        Uncompress

            gunzip rpv.reloaded.gz

    2b) To build the disk from the distribution tapes:

        Fetch the distribution tapes:

        This command will install MR12.3 into the emulator.

           ./dps8 MR12.3_install.ini 

        Ignore the "rm: cannot remove ‘rpv.dsk’: No such file or directory"
        and "Error 256" messages.

        Wait 45 minutes (on a 2Ghz processor).

        Backup the disk image:

            cp rpv.dsk rpv.dsk.reloaded

  

Run the demo:

    ./dps8 rulez.ini
