Supported Chocolatey CLI versions

We have a very basic rule in this repository about what versions of Chocolatey CLI are supported.

We consider the last version of Chocolatey CLI to be supported, as well as any version that was the latest in the past 12 months. In other words, when a new version of Chocolatey CLI is released, the Support Ends date is set for 1 year - 1 day after that release date. For example, if the release date of the new version is 2025-05-12, the Support Ends date of the prior version will be 2026-05-11.

Take for instance, the current date is 2025-07-12, CLI v2.3.0 was released 2024-06-05 and v2.4.0 was released 2024-11-12. In this case, the supported versions would be both CLI 2.4.0 and 2.3.0, but once we get to the date of 2024-11-12, only v2.4.0 would be supported in this case.

Pre-Releases versions are not something we will support.

The following table, updated on December, 4th, 2024, shows the current status of supported Chocolatey CLI versions and when we will stop supporting these versions in this repository.

Any older versions are to be considered unsupported, and issues created for these versions may result in them being closed without a response.
