I am a recent Ph.D. graduate from Vanderbilt University and 2023 PMF Fellow with research interests in climate change adaptation, climate mitigation, and coupled natural and human systems. My Ph.D. work focused on understanding the threat of sea-level rise to the low-lying landscape of the Ganges-Brahmaputra-Meghna (GBM) delta. I used field-based methods to characterize tidal and sediment dynamics which informed the development of an open-source, process-based model of elevation change in Python (available here). I placed second in the 2023 Syvitski Student Modeler Award and gave a keynote lecture at the Community Surface Dynamics Modeling System (CSDMS) Annual Meeting where I showcased the model and my work.
In addition to my research, I have served and advocated for graduate students as part of the Graduate Student Council at Vanderbilt. As President, I oversaw projects ranging from the development and adoption of the Vanderbilt University Mental Health Bill of Rights and Responsibilities, the restructuring of the Student Activities Fees allocation process to be more inclusive of graduate students which resulted in a 6-fold increase ($100k) in funding to graduate student community and served on many university committees.
