The Fair Foreclosures project will focus on investigating whether lender practices in managing and marketing properties that are effectively foreclosed in communities of color violate provisions of the Fair Housing Act. The project wil be using a wide variety of data sources and analytic techniques to
- identify effectively foreclosed properties
- understand how those properties are managed and marketed, and
- compare that treatment to management and marketing practices in communities with different demographics
Legal Aid of Western Missouri is a key stakeholder in the project and will be working with the team to provide input and direction to help inform the analysis.
