Historical flashlight mods

This flashlight is a piece of history and it is not easy to get it for free...

However, I don't like its original battery. They are difficult to source and above all, they are not rechargeable.

I then decided to convert it to a 4 x 1.2V NiMh battery type with about 2500 mAh of capacity. The original battery type is 4.5V. So, it's more or less the same voltage.

The mods are pretty simple: you need a 4x AA type battery holder, a battery clip for 9V bat., a piece of copper you will cut in 2 and shape to fit to the case contacts and then solder the + and - to their respective wires.

The battery holder fits perfectly into the case. You can check the different pics. And last but not least, you need a NiMh battery charger.

Enjoy your historical flashlight!
