Most arts and craft projects involve moving the hands and fingers.
These movements involve fine motor skills and improve the overall muscle strength
and control over movements. When a child colours or does a craft project, his motor
skills gradually increase. Arts and crafts increase agility in kids and with
practice manual dexterity also improve over time.

Besides these, the boys learn scouting and even represented Shelter Don Bosco at
the 13th National Boscoree event held at Nashik in December2018.

Shelter makes an attempt to make kids aware by conducting various workshops,
Quizzes, Sessions, Games, Movies and therapies on different topics related to
Medical, General knowledge, English, Science and technology, various health issues
and diseases, Drug De-addiction, Rehabilitation, Careers , savings, Education etc.
Innovative and creative ways of activities are conducted in order to bring in active
participation by the boys.

Shelter Don Bosco Facilitates children with Career Counseling, Udaan- A National
Career Mela, and A Career Expo for Marginalized Youth (Annual event), Chota
Udaan(monthly) and have now launched a Career Market Place called Naukriadda- a
platform where children from various ngos can acess the webpage for choosing career
options suitable to their profile.

With Education as a tool to build up a Child’s Career. Computer education has been
given outmost importance. Shelter provides children with Computers to practice their
Basic computers taught in school. English Speaking Tutorial Software are used to
help them learn Spoken English. Children are given access to the Computer Class
during their leisure time.

A kitchen is a learning lab for children that can involve all of their senses. While
kneading, tossing, pouring, smelling, cutting, and feeling foods they have fun and
learn without being aware of it. Cooking with children at Shelter promotes the
lifetime skill of healthy cooking starting at a young age.Cooking can aid children
in acceptance of responsibility. Each child is given a task to contribute to the
meal
preparation and cleanup.

Counselling is one of the major tools utilized for helping the marginalized youth
and children. The life on the streets takes a huge emotional trauma on them. In
order to help them cope with their feelings, they are supported through individual
and group counselling.Various therapies and counselling tests are conducted at every
stage i.e Outreach, Rehabilitation centre, Drop-in centre, Children’s Home and After
Care home.

Don Bosco believed much in outings and excursions which are essential for holistic
education. And so Shelter Don Bosco with the much appreciated help of benefactors

The Health and hygiene upkeep of our boys are looked after through medical camps

Music plays an important role in our culture. You'll find music present in many

Shelter helps impacting child development, improve social skills, and benefits
children in many aspects.

Shelter Don Bosco encourages boys to accumulate money for their future prospects.
The concept of savings help shelter boys understand the need of saving and
utilization of their money at the right point of time in their lives. Shelter
facilitates children with a Bank account, Pass book, Pan Card and Fino Card.

Summer camps are opportunities for children to spend their summer learning through
recreation. Various activities, games, outings, training programs, awareness
programs, picnics and outdoor camps are conducted During the 3 month Camp, Children
are given various opportunities to explore their talent, learn leadership skills and
team spirit. Children are divided in teams and fight for points to reach to the top
and win the Summer Camp winning team title.
