Look at https://github.com/digidem/comapeo-mobile/blob/develop/src/frontend/hooks/useSyncState.ts for potential inspiration

Couple of hooks that would be helpful to implement:

Expose a useful sync state (e.g. what's returned by core)
Expose sync progress
