"No scopes were provided" when attempting to use a slash command

Sometimes when I use a slash command in DMs with my bot, it says "No scopes were provided", and does not send anything to my bot. The command works perfectly when the data does send to the bot.

I think the problem occurs when I initiate the command through the blue clickable "Commands" button at the bottom right of the DM. If I click this button and then click my command, when I try to send it gives me the error. However if I initiate the command just through typing, it seems to work just fine. Is this expected or has anyone else seen anything like this? I submitted a ticket to developer support and they redirected me here.
