Apart from tracking the performance (time), it would be really good to keep track of the allocations count from the block execution (if provided).

Great idea! I think we can use https://github.com/SamSaffron/memory_profiler for this. WDYT?

I do wonder about the overhead of bringing a whole lib to track that. Also, I don't see it support jruby.
