e-MERLIN list for access: Javier, Katharine, Anita, Jack, Rob, Neal, Megan, Danielle, Robert, Tom, Paul plus ask legacy teams

  1. Current CASAfication Jack working on loading data and flagger (AO flagger)

    • import uvfits (could be done with fitsidi)

      • keep both
    • keeping history

    • gui in CASA, or 'headless' mode option

    • prioritise testing functionality

    • make non-parallised version

    • UVFITs data - information lost e.g. weights, PB infor Katharine send information to Anita

    • sorting - Jack test if this is needed if directly imported from fitsidi (happens by default if MMS created)

    • For full beam information, need Paul/Simon

    • Look at other scripts e.g. DARA

    • Uses also non-CASA functionality which all work on MS (e.g. AOflagger, WSclean) but will test and default if non-CASA packages not available not available

      • Need to have mechanism to adapt to update when new versions of external software e.g. AOFlagger 2.7 needs separate sources in sep. files Jack/Javier sort out current practice
    • Identify e-M pipeline contact person v. CASA devloper (and test pipeline each time new CASA version)

Will also include Pythonised SERPent when available

    • Look at VLA pipeline

  2. Versioning! e-MERLIN github - Javier set it up Add anyone who needs to access it to e-MERLIN mailing list Jack write READMeBeforeYouTouchThis

  3. Related relevance Standard test data set Jack L-band test data set 6 G Anita C-band 3C277.1 Need standardised tests

  4. Pipeline functionality (also see 1)

    • Missing Checks/warning for primary beam, Fringcal, allow pol. selective flagging (CASA deve needed).
    • What are breakpoints, stages for difficult decisions? Delay tests on unaveraged data to see if can be averaged

    Modular

    • Initial steps mostly run at observatory (see Javier current QA, incl. weblog plots) but all pipeline steps to be available to users.

    • Allow insertion of special module for Legacy teams

    • Rob provide small mixed mode

    • 16 Feb 2015 date when Cm access offset correction implemented in correlator - initially to have a break point, could be implemented by human.

      • Jack with Anita/Emily/Katharine
  5. Ultimate goal re-pipeline all (useful) data!

  6. Telecon once a month Anita set up Minutes to go on github
