Agenda

  1. Pipeline Progress (Javier/Jack)
    • Basic infrastructure in place e.g. headless version + logger
    • Test data sets (other suggestions?)
    • Aoflagging is default, few more tests left
    • Calibration steps started for continuum only

  1. Pipeline progress - Jack/Javier

    • see Github report above
    • options for script or gui
    • To test: * Command line git clone https://github.com/e-merlin/CASA_eMERLIN_pipeline.git * See README.md for running instructions
    • Paul will insert into online system for 'QA1'
    • Need standardised regression tests - assigned to issue #44
  2. Structure - focus on simple continuum

    • Logger
    • External log and history within MS eventually need to prevent repetition, record correct versions of table to apply; also tracking of manual calibration
    • convert to MMS, housekeeping, aoflagger avoid running Hanning smoothing twice, at least in the pipeline
    • calibrate calibration sources
    • delay, init. bpass
    • define prerequisites - dictionary of inputs incl. precalibration, spwmaps
    • define break points - optional, and definately stop if something out of range
    • make sure human intervention e.g. edited cal table can be inserted
    • eventually get as much input info as possible from data/history
  3. Flagging

    • can you add a user-defined flag command file - assigned #42
    • exclude lines from being flagged - assigned #43
  4. Testers:

    • Danielle, Katharine, also Eskil (at OSO) volunteered (ideally report for 1 month time!)
    • Own data or test data sets equally welcome, see Github

  5. Contribute code

    • clone code via Github
    • suggest only Jack & Javier can merge - try and disable ability of others to accidentally mess up.
    • Javier prepare list of beginner's commands
    • If you are contributing remember to commit to the issue on the issue tab so that two people arn't doing the same thing.
    • Once cloned, enter directory and can contribute functions in ./functions/eMERLIN_CASA_functions.py. Alternatively, can create a
  6. Requests/suggestions

    • contribute your own code into a fork of the the pipeline and notify Jack/Javier to check/merge
    • or, open Github ticket and describe what you want, ideally in detail with examples/code fragments
  7. Flux scaling

    • Have 3C286 CASA image models with tt0, tt1 (i.e. 2nd order, incl. spec index)
    • For C-band the one image need to be scaled to the correct frequency
    • Anita, Javier, Katharine work on this **Anita define the problem
    • at present scale the derived fluxes using dfluxpy.py
    • Ger van Diepen TAQL could be used to scale models?
  8. Currently AOflagger run only once initially

    • Strategy will be:
    • flag BP cal source, derive & apply delay & BP table
    • flag other cal sources during calibration
    • apply calibraton and flag target ** Jack check AOFlagger bandpass capability
  9. Getting beam patterns into VP manager

    • lacking Lo measurement - should be done soon after repair
    • have measurements for other antennas, some progress on conversion
