What e107 are you using? Latest one (from here, 2.3.3 I think) uses header('location: https://via.placeholder.com/'.$getsize); in e_thumbnail_class.php

empty src parameter means that your image is missing, so Alex advice was correct. If it wasn't logo, you should find what image is missing.

I tested it and in my case, it redirects correctly to https version. You can try it on e107.org too, just thumb.php?src=&aw=144&ah=144 and you will see.
