In our previous experience of pandapipes usage, I believe that we never really found a use case for any node component model other than junction. Do you think it would make sense to remove the abstract node component model and only use junctions? The advantage is that we don't have to always think of what kind of nodes could be connected to branch or node element components, but it is fixed. This would be similar somehow to the networkx world, where nodes are always just nodes that can act as a dictionary key, but edges can have a lot of different attributes.
