Easyconfigs merge sprint

• Wed June 3rd 2015
• plan is to get as many (already open) easyconfig PRs merged in as feasible
• focus is on getting rid of backlog
• 5-6 people have confirmed to join in already
• large amount of focus will be on bioinformatics related PRs (Fotis, Pablo, Robert, ...)
• Kenneth will send out detailed overview of people joining in + who's available when and interested in what

Early outlook to EasyBuild v2.2

• planned:
  • support for using GC3Pie with --job (Kenneth + Riccardo)
  • packaging support with FPM (Robert)
  • subtoolchain-aware robot (WIP by Alan)
• hopefully getting PRs related to QIIME merged in (Kenneth)

Update on packaging support with FPM

• functionality is there, needs feedback from interested parties
• plan is to include support in EasyBuild v2.2 under --experimental
• preliminary documentation https://rjeschmi-eb-draft.readthedocs.org/en/latest/Creating_binary_packages.html
• relation to --skip needs to be looked into
• will probably remain experimental until after hackathon @ TACC (Nov'15)
• conf call with Robert McLay (TACC) and Vital-T to get early feedback may be worthwhile
