Your use case

What would you like to do?

As a user trying to find a DM or room
I'd like to search for the name and find the most relevant results clearly standing out

Why would you like to do it?

To avoid writing the wrong person or room with a similar name

How would you like to achieve it?

So I'd expect the search result to be structured

  • my own homeserver / organisation first
  • separator
  • external rooms I'm a member of
  • separator
  • rest of world

Have you considered any alternatives?

No response

Additional context

In a paid corporate with a private federation of expect the server admin to define a whitelist of friendly in-house homeserver

Are you willing to provide a PR?

Yes
