Problem

It is possible to select one item just by moving the cursor. It is possible to move the cursor without deselecting the first item (by holding down <Ctrl>). However there is no obvious way of selecting a second non-contiguous item from the keyboard.

Proposal

Implement a keyboard shortcut to toggle the selection status of the item currently at the cursor position.

Prior Art (Optional)

I could not find a way to do this in Nautilus or Dolphin either.
