However, in Latin America, there is still a lack of freely accessible, contextually adapted educational material in Spanish for learning analysis, modelling, and response to outbreaks and epidemics. Furthermore, despite efforts in recent years to reduce the gender gap in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and data science specifically, there remains a significant gap in the participation and representation of women in this field, limiting the potential for development and advancement in regional public health. This project promotes the implementation of innovative educational strategies and virtual learning through the creation of a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) to overcome social, economic, and access barriers to quality education, promoting gender equity.
