<Android 10> <judyln> [Stuck on Boot after installing OxygenOS GSI] #175

Describe the bug
After trying to install the OxygenOS-AB-10-20191102-ErfanGSI.img-2325 system image on an LG G7+ ThinQ (LM-G710EAW) device and reboot, the phone stucks on the splash screen showing the text "LG G7+ ThinQ".

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Start with (1) an LG G7+ ThinQ (LM-G710EAW) with stock LG firmware (software version: V30b-HKG-XX) & bootloader unlocked, and; (2) A computer on Windows 10 with SDK Platform Tools (version: r31.0.2-windows) properly set up.
  2. In fastboot mode, reboot the phone into TWRP recovery 3.4.0-0 by connecting the phone to the computer and use the fastboot command "fastboot boot [file name of the twrp image]" (download link for the TWRP image: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11kv49FdghradkQMlUcdgte1hAFcj4ve9/view?usp=sharing).
    Keep connecting the phone to the computer and perform step 3 to 7 on the phone:
  3. Swipe on "Swipe to Allow Modifications".
  4. Press Wipe -> press Format Data -> type "yes" and confirm.
  5. After finishing format data, go back to the main screen of TWRP
  6. press Wipe -> press Advanced Wipe -> select "Dalvik / ART Cache", "System" and "Data", and then swipe on "Swipe to Wipe".
  7. Go back to the TWRP main screen, press Reboot -> press Bootloader -> swipe on "Swipe to Reboot".
  8. Repeat step 2 to 3.
  9. Transfer the installation file for LineageOS 17.1 (lineage-17.1-20200920-UNOFFICIAL-judyln.zip, download link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Qyo3Q5-0Yj9nAr2v4l4Iu8Mz8ojnejS-/view?usp=sharing) to the phone and install the package by pressing Install -> select the installation file -> swipe on "Swipe to confirm Flash".
  10. _Repeat step 7 to 8 in order to reboot back to TWRP. _
  11. Press Wipe -> swipe on "Sqipe to Factory Reset".
  12. Go back to TWRP main screen, then press Wipe -> press Advanced Wipe -> select "Dalvik / ART Cache", "System" and "Data", and then swipe on "Swipe to Wipe".
  13. Transfer the following files to the phone: (1) OxygenOS-AB-10-20191102-ErfanGSI.img (extracted from a compressed file that downloaded from: https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/gsi/OxygenOS/OxygenOS-AB-10-20191102-ErfanGSI.img-2325.7z); (2) Permissiver_v4.zip (download link: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=6006931924117886495)
  14. Go back to TWRP main screen, then press Install -> press Install Image -> select the file "OxygenOS-AB-10-20191102-ErfanGSI.img" -> select "System Image" and then swipe on "Swipe to confirm Flash".
  15. After finishing the flash, go back to TWRP main screen, press Install -> select "Permissiver_v4.zip" -> swipe on "Swipe to confirm Flash".
  16. After finishing the flash, press Reboot -> press System -> press "Do Not Install" when being asked whether to install TWRP app.
  17. The phone starts rebooting and stuck on the boot screen.

Expected behavior
If the installation success, the phone should show an OxygenOS boot animation and boot into system within 30 mins. However, After performing the procedures above, the phone stuck on a screen showing the text "LG G7+ ThinQ".
