Ah, sorry for providing feedback early; just realized this is just a copy-paste of software installer automation at the moment.

Did notice that we'll need to update the guide on software installation (both policy based and in general) when RPM support goes live. Looks like we need to add a docs ticket for that?

docs-4.58 branch is way behind main, hence the diff. Either 4.58 needs to be caught up or this branch needs to be rebased.

@iansltx Ah I see, docs-4.58.0 had been updated from main, but this branch still needed to be updated from docs-4.58.0. Should be ready for review now
