@lukeheath here's the PR for the release article.

IIRC we have some release automation (creating a LinkedIn and sending an announcement in #general).

Does this PR play a role in that automation? Wondering if I should wait to merge or if there's a special format I need to use for the PR title/description.

@eashaw @noahtalerman i reviewed and approved this but i think we do not want to merge until the release is actually cut (hopefully later today)
