Default Pre > Code text color and background-color has low contrast, intended?

Using the default color for foundations email it seems like a code element has very light gray text which against the background isn't wcag compliant and is very difficult to read:

Is this intended? Happy to put together a PR to fix this - or if it is intended I can work around it.
