How about just creating one RDB record when received one message?
Record should be like (guild_id, channel_id, message_id, author_id).
This enables you to get various statistics easily afterwards.

It's hard to estimate the amount of data in the table.
Instead I'll make a bot for testing which just creates a record on a received message and see how much storage is consumed after some weeks.
