Catalyst Voting Registration Guide with your Ledger Nano S/X

There are many ways to do this, here are the steps to do it with the Typhon Wallet and your Ledger Nano S or Nano X device.

Typhon Wallet is made by Strica, which are also the creator of the beloved CardanoScan.io Explorer on the Cardano Blockchain.

 

 

 

Steps for the registration using the Typhon Wallet

  1. Unlock your Ledger device and open up the Cardano App on it

    💡 Make sure you have the latest version of the Cardano-App installed on your Ledger device. It can be update/managed easily with the Ledger Live Desktop Environment.

     

  2. Choose 'HARDWARE WALLET' on the access page, select the Ledger device and click on 'Unlock with Ledger'

     

  3. Choose your preferred Address-Management, 'HD Wallet' is the standard one.

     

  4. After you have confirmed the connection (public key export) on your Ledger device you will be presented with the Typhon Wallet main dashboard

     

  5. If you're already delegating to a Cardano Community StakePool, you can skip to step 8. If not, click on 'Staking' on the left main menu and proceed by clicking on START

     

  6. Choose a Cardano Community StakePool and click on Select

     

  7. Confirm the Delegation by clicking on Confirm. You also have to confirm the transaction on your Ledger device.

     

  8. VOTING REGISTRATION - Choose 'Voting' on the left main menu, download and install the Catalyst Voting App on your mobile phone for later usage. Click on Continue.

     

  9. Choose your personal 4 digit PIN code, you will need it later in the Catalyst Voting App. Click on Continue.

     

  10. Confirm your choosen 4 digit PIN code, click on Continue.

     

  11. Confirm the Catalyst Registration on the Blockchain for this wallet by clicking on Confirm. You have to confirm the transaction of course again also on your Ledger device.

     

  12. After a successful Registration on the Blockchain, you will be presented with a QR-Code. Save this QR-Code by clicking on the DOWNLOAD button, you will need it in the next Steps for the Catalyst Voting App.

     

  13. You can check the OnChain registration for the wallet by revisiting the Voting page. If you have forgotten your 4 digit PIN code, you can redo the registration. Only the latest generated QR-Code will work with the Catalyst Voting App. Now let's switch to the MobilePhone-App to complete the registration.

     

  14. ON YOUR MOBILE PHONE - Open the Catalyst Voting App and tap "Let's start" or "Skip"

     

  15. Tap on "Register now"

     

  16. Tap on "Scan voting QR-Code" and scan the QR code, which you received in Step 12

     

  17. Enter the 4 digit PIN code, which you set in Step 9 and tap "Confirm"

     

This concludes the registration process. 😃

Your Voting-Power will show up in the Catalyst Voting App once the voting is open in the current Fund-Round.
