Sending OTS not working. #7
Comments
You should be using an IPv4 LAN address. It should be on the same subnet as your router. ex: XIVLauncher will only listen for the one-time password when the prompt is up. You can also test that it's not a firewall issue on your computer with http://computerIPhere:4646/otphere (substituting the IP and OTP as needed) |
Same here, i did put the IPv4 of my computer in the app but it doesn't send the otp to the launcher, maybe it's a firewall issue? Or a port forawrding issue? |
A year later and definitely still not working. It doesn't seem to be even making the attempt to send it. There's no feedback from the app whether it tried and failed or what the issue is. You launch it, and nothing happens. Hit resend all you want it doesn't respond. I have it set to close on send, and it's not closing itself either. Either the instructions are incorrect or something is still wrong with the app. |
Nothing is broken with the app - we have several users who it works fine for. |
And you have users who it doesn't work for. |
My point is it's most likely user error. There are a lot of variables I need you to provide to troubleshoot this - you're sure the IP is correct? What operating system? The setting is enabled in XIVLauncher? etc. |
I followed every step to the letter. I'm running windows 10, the setting is definitely enabled in the launcher, and using the guide linked in the setup I ran ipconfig and typed the IPv4 Address exactly as it appeared. |
Yo, made an account just to reply to this thread. I had this exact same issue and I followed the instructions properly, but I did end up solving it. For some reason 9/10 ways I used to get my IP resulted in the same set of numbers as I was originally using. But one gave me a different IPv4 (not 100% sure why), but I tried using that different IPv4 and it worked. Might be something you can try out if you're still getting issues with the OTP. Cheers! |
I been trying to find the right ip address but none of them are working. I tried from website to cmd to just looking at my wifi setting. None of them work. So question is this, are you support to type in the iv6 or iv4 or something else in the XLlancher ip because I kept getting error saying it failed.
