  • 2021 Organization: USCIS (Excella). Checklist for Tech Challenge Part I. Context: I wrote this document in conjuction with several others to outline our team's approach to a seven-day USCIS technical challenge.
  • 2021 Organization: Excella. Guidelines for Section 508 (Accessibility) Compliance Context: Provides accessibility guidance to Excella technical consultants who worked with various federal government agencies.
  • 2020 Organization: Excella. Guide to Measuring Impact with Agile Metrics. Context: I wrote this document in its entirety, based on ideas about Agile metrics and how to categorize them that I had been formulating for several years.
  • 2020 Organization: CFPB (Excella). Portfolio, Program, and Project Management in an Agiile Context. Context: Provides guidance about Agile principles and practices as applied in a portfolio, program, and project management context, for organizations that have a mixture of Waterfall, Lean, and Agile practices in place.
  • 2020 Organization: UATP (Excella). Role Descriptions Context: This document helped the Universal Air Travel Plan organization establish clear role definitions.
  • 2019 Organization: 14 West (Excella). Models for Establishing Agile Practices. Context: Provides insights about common models that organizations might borrow from as part of an Agile Transformation.
  • 2018 Organization: NIH Agile Practice Observations Context: Summarizes my recommendations for technical teams, focusing on Agile, Lean, and DevOps.
  • 2017 Organization: Evolent Health Meeting Faciiitation Cheat Sheet Context: A short hand-out that I prepared on how to have effective meetings, which I distributed in conjunction with training I conducted on the topic.
  • 2016 Organization: Evolent Health. Figuring Out What Customers Want Context: I wrote this summary for colleagues in Product Management about was at the time a new perspective based on "Jobs To Be Done" (JTBF).
  • 2016 Organization: Agile Alliance. What Does a Good API Developer Experience Look Like? Context: A Pecha Kucha talk that I gave at the Agile Alliance Conference in Atlanta in 2016.
  • 2015 Organization: IEEE. Manual Testing's Newfound Place in the Automated Testing World Context: I co-authored and delivered this presentation at the IEEE AUTOTESTCON in Washington, D.C., with NPR colleague Paul Miles.
  • 2015 Organization: NPR. Stakeholder Reviews: Guide to Getting Meaningful Feedback Context: Guidance that I wrote to help technical teams in Digital Media conduct effective Sprint Reviews.
  • 2014 Organization: NPR. Slacking On and Slacking Off: Slack Productivity Hacks Context: A quixk reference guide that helped Digital Media get up to speed quickly with the Slack instant messaging platform.
  • 2013 Organization: Project Management Institute - Conference Paper, co-authored with Dr. Ahmed Sidky ITILity - Delivering Business Value via the Nexus of Lean-Agile and IT Service Management Context: I prepared this paper to accompany a presentation that Dr. Sidky and I gave at the Global PMI Congress in New Orleans. Note: You can fnd the accompanying presentation that we delivered at the conference here.
  • 2013 Organization: CBP (Santeon). CBP Increment 4 Planning Agenda Context: As the lead Agile Coach working with Customs & Boarder Protection during the early stages of an Agile Transformation, I wrote this high level agenda for one of the organization's quarterly release planning events.
  • 2013 Organization: USCIS (Santeon). Facilitator Guide - ELIS 2.0 Release 5 Planning. Context: As one of many Agile Coaches working with the organization, I wrote this detailed plan on how we would conduct Electronic Immigration System quarterly release planning at US Citizenship and Immigration Services.
  • 2009 Organization: Family Health International. FHI Knowledge Management Primer Context: This is a scan of a one-page synopsis of a wide-ranging assessment that I conducted of FHI systems, tools, and processes.
  • 2008 Organization: University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Information and Library Science The Role of Maturity Models in IT Governance: A Comparison of the Major Models and Their Potential Benefits to the Enterprise Context: This is a chapter that I wrote, published in the book edited by Aileen Cater-Steel, titled Information Technology Governance and Service Management: Frameworks and Adaptations. Note that the first link shows only the first couple of pages of the article.
  • 2006 Organization: UNC Gillings School of Public Health/School of Information and Library Science. Semantic Technologies and Tools Context: Presentation I gave at the Dublin Core Conference in Mexico while working at UNC and while enrolled as a part-time Doctoral Student at UNC.
  • 2006 Organization: Cisco Systems. IPv6 Compliance Reporting Business Case. Context: As part of my role as an IT Analyst, I wrote this business case to describe the potential benefits that could be expected as part of a move from Internet Protocol (IP) version 4 to IP version 6.
  • 2002 Organization: American Military University (AMU). Protecting the US Critical Infrastructure: Securing Information Systems. Context: This is one of many academic papers that I wrote pursuant to the completion of a Master's Degree in National Security Studies from AMU.
  • 2001 Organization: Cisco Systems. Cisco ICS 7750 System Description Context: I was the technical documentaton lead for this product, and wrote all of the technical manuals, including this one.
  • 1999 Organization: MPath Interactive. POP.X Evaluation Guide. Context. This is a scan of a few introductory pages and the first chapter from one of many documents that I wrote for developers interested in working with the POP.X Software Development Kit (SDK).
  • 1996 Organization: HartSoft (In Other Words). StorageAnalyzer: Concepts and Facilities. Context: This is a scan of a technical overview of a storage management product by a company called HartSoft; HartSoft was one of many small companies that I wrote technical documentation for while employed by In Other Words.
  • 1995 Organization: HartSoft (In Other Words). StorageAnalyzer Marketing Brochure. Context: This is a scan demonstrating my ability to write marketing copy, for a storage management product by a company called HartSoft.
  • 1992 Organization: US Air Force. Baseball didn't end with World Series. Context: This is a scan of a sports column that I wrote for the Riyadh Air Base newspaper ("Sand Doin's") while deployed to Saudi Arabia; my article is on the lower half of the page.
  • 1991 Organization: US Air Force. Disaster Preparedness Guide for the Tucson Area. Context: This is a scan of one of the publications that I wrote as the Chief of Disaster Preparedness at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona.
