How to Grafana beyla instrument all k8s_namespaces but exclude some namespaces

Hi, Community.

I have some questions about configuration Grafana Beyla to instrument application using k8s_namespace.

I know how to config k8s_namespace but in my Kube cluster have namespaces more than 50 namespace and I cannot use regex to match all of project because it has different format.

So, my question is If I want to instrument app in

• Namespace 1
• Namespace 2
• Namespace 3
• Namespace 4
  .
  .
  .
• Namespace 50

But I don't want instrument app in Namespace 22, Namespace 40, and Namespace 50.
How can I config Beyla to support that case?

Sorry if this question sounds silly, but is using a regex to discard those namespaces not an option?

It's not silly sir. In fist I think maybe if I use regex ignore pattern will work. But Beyla will show error like this when you try to use regex ignore pattern in -k8s_namespace

Oh shoot, I see...it looks a limitation of Kubernetes in this case. Did you consider using k8s_pod_labels and only instrumented the desired ones? I know it's not ideal, but it might work.

For now, I decided to manual input specific namespace need to instrument But in the future our team plan to use k8s_pod_labels instead to specify k8s_namespace.
