Have a look at my pet project: https://github.com/cborgolte/shopping-list

The trick is to include the hoodie client from within your index.html: https://github.com/cborgolte/shopping-list/blob/master/ng-src/src/index.html#L7
And then you can access the hoodie client as a constant variable: https://github.com/cborgolte/shopping-list/blob/master/ng-src/src/app/shared/service/hoodie.service.ts#L19

I had it once running by installing the '@hoodie/client' package, but faced some problems after a while, which I was not able to resolve. So I switched back to the index.html with global hoodie variable approach and this works well for me.
