Images on Events page distorted at narrow widths

Describe the bug

Images on the Events page become distorted (their aspect ratio becomes less than 1.0) at certain widths, before they are hidden.

There is a range between the maximum width and when the distortion begins where the images scale down, which is the expected behaviour.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to the Events page
2. Adjust the size of the viewport so that it is less than the maximum width of the content, but before the images disappear altogether
3. See error

Expected behavior

The images should scale while preserving their aspect ratio
