Phantom device generates error on plugin startup

Expected Behavior

After clicking "Edit device settings..." the configuration pane should open with no device selected in the lower portion of the pane.

Current Behavior

However, it opens with a device already populated in the lower part of the pane. This appears to be the lowest alpha sorted Indigo device. The plugin them immediately generates the following warning in the Indigo log
HomeKit Bridge Warning xxx Sensor is defaulting to a HomeKit switch because the device type cannot be determined but does not support On/Off and likely won't do anything in HomeKit
