add server status indicator in-app

Currently you have to check r/lazyman to get the status. We could just add it inside the app.

I'll volunteer to do it.

the problem is there is no easy check to just see if things are working as expected

@StevensNJD4 any desire to maintain some endpoint that has some basic status we can poll? then we could just pop up a message across the apps
