New undocumented provisioning->enrollment report functionality breaks existing scripts

Summary:

The undocumented changed functionality released last week from commit 438f144 has broken script functionality for many people... While I understand wanting data consistency, this update doesn't seem well thought out. If I want to get a report of enrollments for courses in concluded terms, I must now include deleted objects as well, even when I don't care about them? This makes the reports much larger and increases run time significantly. Can concluded enrollments be added to the "regular" report run, or have a separate option added to include them without deleted enrollments?

I have contacted Canvas support about this, but they have not bene helpful at all, and the feature idea process really doesn't seem to work around API changes, so I am posting here...
