This is a toolkit @kentfredric has thrown together for streamlining various aspects of our travis testing and jitpack deployment stacks.
Primarily, its tasked with installing a non-standard JDK
Implementation, Zulu as opposed to the generic
openjdk
or oracle
JDK implementations that is provided by
most install targets.
It also contains helpers for provisioning boot
on those targets, and setting up the environment for installing
dependencies and testing.
This toolkit operates by injecting itself into the target build environment to allow more control of that environment through commands.
For instance, the following syntax would not work as the invoked script can't control its calling environment
install:
- ./setup_environment.sh
Instead, this script has to be source
'd for the real work to
happen.
before_install:
- curl -fsSLo init.sh http://irresponsible.github.io/tools.travis.jdk-installer/init.sh
- source init.sh
This will ensure the JDK specified is injected into $PATH
and configured in $JAVA_HOME
before_install:
- ...
- install_jdk "zulu8"
Valid options:
zulu7
zulu8
zulu9
Additonal Valid Options on Travis:
oraclejdk8
openjdk7
These are only available on travis as they use travis-specific logic and assumptions to work.
This will ensure a script will exist that can be called as:
./boot
This will inject two variables into your environment that will
increase the chances of your large dependency stacks being
installed, and will force a specific version of boot
overriding
the one defined in your project.
