Task(s)

Task 1

Create a tutorial of how to use one of the options below. Include what the tool is typically used for, and include a way that you would use it differently than it's intended purpose.

  • Text-to-speech
  • Speech-to-text
  • Adapted Mouse
  • Font Control
  • Virtual Keyboard
  • Sticky Keys
  • Colour Contrast
  • Image Magnifier

You can complete this by either creating a video, screen capture, or written tutorial. You can either be in the video, or just use screen capture software (such as this).

Cite any sources used with either APA or MLA format

Also complete one of the following:

Task 2a

Create an informational item (i.e. video, website, pamplet, etc.) about the impact on privacy that technology has. This would include collecting and processing data (e.g. camera phones, reward programs, targeted advertisement, etc.)

Task 2b

Create an informational item (i.e. video, website, pamplet, etc.) about issues that are associated with using online services (e.g. network security, the permanence of information on the internet, privacy issues, social media, data leaks from social media set to "private", etc.)

For either task, make sure you include:

  • What the issue is, How and Why it happens.
  • Any Legal and Ethical issues your topic presents.
  • How someone can protect themselves from those issues.
  • Cite any sources used with either APA or MLA format

Free online infographic tools are available here, here, and here. There are more available if you don't like the ones above (a Google search will find you some more).
